POWR Is Acquired by Pluribus Technologies

Today is an exciting day for us all at POWR!  

We’re thrilled to announce that POWR has been acquired by Pluribus Technologies. 

Personally, I’m excited not only for what this means for POWR, but also what it means for all of our POWR Heroes. 

Where It Started

We’ve come a long way since founding POWR in 2014. POWR was born out of a frustration I saw time and again from my friends who owned businesses, and from my own experience building a website.

Adding features and functionality was clunky and wasn’t intuitive. We wanted to make it simple, code-free and allow small business owners to enjoy their relationship with their website.

Back then, our brand color was red, and we called POWR a ‘website relationship management system’ (WRM) -- it’s true! Check out Ben’s talk at UC Berkeley.

How It's Going

We saw phenomenal growth in a short amount of time, and over the last 7 years we’ve seen the POWR team grow from just Ben and myself huddled around a small table in Ben’s living room in Noe Valley, to a 51-strong global team of POWR Rangers.

Our community of POWR Heroes is well over 2,000,000, and our apps have been installed more than 17,000,000 times.

We’ve spoken to hundreds of you, and your feedback, support (and criticism) have been invaluable in getting us here today. 

We feel very grateful: for the team at Pluribus that shares our vision, for our employees and their families who have put so much into this journey, and to our customers who have supported us all these years.

Unlike many in this industry, we never raised VC money. We’re extremely proud of the fact that our POWR Heroes are our VCs! Thank you to every single one of you. 

What’s Next? 

The best part of this partnership is that it allows us to keep our POWRful way of doing things. We’ll continue to do what we do best:

• Support eCommerce businesses in collecting more leads
• Optimizing for conversions with easy-to-use, affordable, and customizable tools. 

We’ll continue to grow the POWR team and, with Pluribus’ help, we’ll have the resources to accelerate our vision of empowering small businesses around the globe with the solutions they need to grow online. 

We look forward to the future of the POWR community as we embark on this next chapter together. POWR on!
